So (it's horrible timing) but the server won't be up until about 10:00 WA time tonight, urgent family matter that requires laptop has come up, and the whole idea of saving it on dropbox doesn't seem to work as dropbox uploads really slow and for whatever reason hosting on the desktop can't be detected by MC. So yeah, it sucks, but it really is a one off, I promise.

Desktop hosting shouldn't be an issue, how I've hosted 2-3 in the past as well as RDP connections to other VM.

Whats the reasons that MC wont run on your desktop?
Routing or firewall protocols?

@Mickle, yeah I was in a bit of a rush and didn't have time to have that deep a look into it, but as far as I know all firewalls/blocks/anything are turned off. I'll have a deeper look into it when i get time.

Possibly just a router / IP connection issue.
Safe to assume you use static IP's on your machines?

Hey this is more a question, i haven't been on the server for like a month cos of exams and now they're over! With Grunt Attack banned is the demand for the server basically just me, and further more are we still going to have a minecraft server as much as i want to be a part of a great server if there is no real interest in it is there much point bugging Pearly all the time to have it up and running? anyway i'm just asking, i would like to know if there many other people out there who want the server back up!!!

it works great!, no lag whatsoever and i get 4 bars .
bit empty though, could use some buildings. adding bukkit would be fun.

I made a skeleton experience farm in the server if anyone is interested, will need materials to make a minecart line to it.

Sorry, we'll be down for a couple of hours while I upgrade to Windows 8. Still not sure if it's a good idea.

Just a heads up that I'll be taking both servers down this afternoon/evening for about half an hour as I reconfigure all my dhcp and static ip settings to make my network more stable and secure.

I'll do it when there is no one online and I'll post here about 15 mins before I take them down.
