Looks good? You mean the actual film or hard drive or what ever they use these days to hold film, is the physical embodiment of pure kickass awesome. This movie isn't just good, while watching, it's probably the closest most of us will ever get to true enlightenment. It's just that good.

There is no way it could be better than the Titanic. People don't appreciate how much effort was put into it. Sorry!

You don't realise that I own a gun. You also don't realise that I am holding the blue prints to your house, along with a list of all your relatives/friends. I also work at the police station. Be afraid.

You just clean the toilets at the cop shop, your gun is a cap gun, and the blueprints are drawn on a napkin.

I haven't seen it yet. I went away for Christmas, visiting family. I can't wait to see it though, it looks awesome.

Does anybody want to see it again with me? I'd prefer not to go by myself

I was very disappointed in the movie.

Though James Cameron admits that he got inspiration from the movie Dances With Wolves, it is basically a complete copy of the plot.

You have to watch it for yourself before you criticize my post Very Happy

I basically knew what was coming next most of the movie.

The only best part of the movie was the graphics. The Na'vi, the environment, were just so beautiful.

I need to watch the movie again without 3D. The 3D was making me nauseous because it was done so badly. (Something can't be meant to appear to stick out of the screen if it gets cut off by the edges of the screen...that's just's stupid)

There were also lots of other concepts from other movies and sources.

Avatar reminded me of
The Matrix, Halo, Borderlands, Demolition Man...I'll add the others when I get my brain working.

All in all, James Cameron, you have disappointed me.

I only saw it in 2d.. Still bad. good storyline but i just didnt like it.
You cant judge a movie on its graphics alone, you need to judge it on storyline aswell.

If you don't like the 3D going off the edges of the screen, move closer, so the screen takes up the full field of your vision. Do you expect them to proportionally increase the size of the screen the further you sit back?

I like sitting at the back, too close and I feel disorientated. Plus, the movie wasn't a 'fly out of the screen' 3D movie. The 3D just greatly added immersion, and really sucked you into the world that James Cameron had created.

Admittedly, of course the plot was un-original. I'm pretty sure everyone could generally predict what was going to happen, but it wasn't trying to be a Mind F**k movie. It simply told a story, and told it pretty damn brilliantly if you ask me.

Moving closer isn't going to do anything. It is all to do with ratios. Where a thing is on the screen is going to be in the same place regardless where you sit by the way it has been filmed. The only way to fix it was if when filming, a wide shot is used and the person is centralised. If a tight shot is used, the edges will be cut off.
