Meh, its just another disaster movie from someone who thinks the worlds gonna end

To many of them tbh, its really just a contest of who can blow up the biggest city

Yeah, I'm with you Yuki, it doesn't really interest me. I watched the recent disaster movie with Keanu Reeves and also The Day After Tomorrow. They're all pretty much the same to me.

The special effects do look awesome, but a movie needs more than that. This film sounds just like every other endoftheworld movie to me.

2012 is from the same director who did the movies The Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day (2 other disaster movies), which were very good movies imo, they had great stories and characters that you could relate to.

At first I thought 2012 would be a good movie, but all the reviews basically say its crap, with a silly story and characters you can't really relate to, which has disappointed me, because I thought it had the potential to become a good movie.

I won't bee seeing it at the cinema, but I'll see it eventually when it comes out on dvd for the spectacle of the world sinking lol.

But stuff blows up! And big things crash into other big things! What's not to like?

Yeah, I like to see that too fade, but it also needs to have at least a decent story like what The Day After Tomorrow had.

btw, anyone who hasn't seen Independence Day, that movie is epic, you must see that movie - will smith = great actor.

Is Independence Day a remake? And what one is the one you are talking about?

I Havnt seen Independence day...

That's the thing. Is a movie that has no storyline worth all the hype and publicity, if all it has in it are special effects? That's just like watching a 2 hour movie on YouTube which is just a collection of things exploding. Would I pay $15 to watch it? No.

The only good thing about this movie is showing the potentials of special effects nowadays. Throw in a good story line that sucks you in and then it will be epic.

If they can pull off at least a decent storyline to accompany all the exploding, like in (at least in my opinion) Transformers 2, then it's gonna be goooooood .
Doubt it will have the depth of Dark Knight though.

I just saw 2012 because i was impatient with waiting till everyone was able to make it. The special effects...are....just....:O
Seriously.
Wear a hat, because it might hold your brain in when it's blown out the back of your head.
The storyline was good enough to make it a great movie in my opinion, although some lines were really cheesy.
All in all, totally worth watching again.

Im not sure, but if its a movie where everyone dies (I havent seen it so i cant say) then it would be good to watch if you watched "knowing" with nicolas cage. Knowing has a really different story, that is very wacked out, but is quite crushing once you get to the end (much like if this movie is about everyone dieing)

Still, its probably what its about, its typical!

Knowing had a phail ending. I loved the movie up until that, it built up great suspense really well, but completely ruined it with a lame ending.

I never watched Knowing, is it a good movie? It has always looked like crap to me, which is why I never saw it, but from what pickles just said it sounds like a crap movie lol

Dont get me wrong, its a decent movie, never actually letting you know what was coming next, but like pickles said, its got the worst ending ever.

It is one of the worse movies I have ever seen.

Everyone should know by now that I watch movies for their storylines. I don't care how good the graphics were, the story was absolutely stupid.

The movie was unrealistic to the extreme. Yes, most disaster movies are unrealistic, but this was ridiculous.

And MY GOD...the horrible horrible puns throughout the whole movie...just so sad.
