I was just wondering what a few of your favourite animes are so I can have a look at them.
(to be perfectly honest I prob dont need any more then I have but meh )

Some of my favourites in no particular order are:

(ok I lied its ordered chronologically based upon what order i thought of them in )

My favourite anime:

Sailor Moon (although you probably won't enjoy it all that much. If you do decide to watch it, watch the R movie first)
Azumanga Daioh (a crazy slice of life comedy)
Fushigi Yuugi (a fantasy series about a couple of modern day girls who get thrown into a version of ancient China)
Death Note (requires no introduction)
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (a mind twister horror. Not really my cup of tea, but a lot of people love it)

I used to watch Dragon Ball Z every morning on Cheese TV :3
But when I rented it from a library for nostalgias sake I was like "Holy crap this is terrible!"
And a tiny bit of pokemon as well, but didn't really get into it.
I was a massive yugioh fan for a while, over 250 cards and two blue eyes white dragon cards Until my friend stole one >=(
But now the only purpose my cards serve is becoming antiques so I can sell them later in life =D

True that. my favorites would have to be:

Pokemon was just ownage - until it past the first and maybe even as far as the second season...
DBZ, i watched a little of it on cheese tv, but never really got into it.
Yu-gi-oh, i actually got two decks of the cards from my cousins in the US, and never thought much of them, but once it hit Aus, i was like "ooh so thats what the hype is for over there"
Card Captor (i think thats what its called), but i really quite enjoyed it ages ago.
Captain planet? not sure if that counts as anime, but it was hilarious

Hellsing, haven't actually watched more than the first episode, but its just good.

Not a big fan of anime, but a few series mentioned here i do like...

Yu-Gi-Oh and GX - Mainly GX, just because i understood it more, i had a deck which was absolute pwnage, but i got it after the fad stopped at school :<

Pokemon - I just like watching it, i have never actually followed it, but just like to see some episodes every now and then...

Pokemon is great - it teaches kids to capture small critters, jam them into small cages, then get them to electrocute and set fire to each other.

shame they replaced cheez with toasted tv. They should have compromised with Toasted Cheese.

They are all crap, i only watch totally wild and scope...
Some times pokemon if i have time...

There's a lot of really good anime out there, but there's a lot of really bad stuff too. Just like any nation's television shows. It's mostly a matter of picked an anime, watching a couple of episodes, if you like it keep watching. And if you liked that one, watch other ones that seem similar.

That's how I do it anyways, or I watch what people recommend to me.

I wasnt saying all anime is bad... Just the stuffs they put on morning kids shows...
But yeah, i wouldn't watch anime unless i get recommended it...

Hey is Avatar the Last Airbender an Anime? I'm not sure, but I was full on addicted to that for a couple of years.

I think Avatar was made in the US...but I'm not sure either lol.

I never watch the anime that's on TV, I just download shows that I want to watch and then if I really like it I'll buy the DVD set.

Death Note is awesome. I think that anyone who like complex plots and people trying to kill each other, will love Death Note (although it has a lot more to it than that). It's absolutely huge in the anime fandom, almost everyone has seen it or at least knows of it. Kinda like Bleach in that way only it's not as long and it appeals to more people.

I know bleach isnt as long as some anime, but it still has 150ish episodes, whereas death note has what - 30ish?

Yeah, around thirty or something. Most anime have about 25-50 episodes, though there are exceptions (like Bleach, Sailor Moon, Naruto, Pokemon, One Piece etc).

Wow I thought animes were huge series.

So did i origionally, but you even get ones that are as short as 10 episodes (for example: Devil May Cry) since there is only so much some stories can do.

where as something like One Piece, which has 400 episodes... its just deters new people from getting into it, since its near impossible to catch up.

Fancy you mention zelda, i just started playing the ocarina of time on my pc today and i have the anime but it looks weird so i havent watched it yet.

So far, im up to date with the Bleach Anime and Manga, and the Naruto Shippuden Anime and Manga. They are both up to really crucial ownage stages that i cant wait to read (i mean the manga - both of the animes are stuck on stupid fillers).
