You may or may not know that Borders in the city closed down. It is really sad, because it is just confirming how much electronic copies of books are taking over.

Do you prefer reading a book or would you rather use an eReader, like Kindle or iPad?

I have always preferred my iPad, love it for reading, storing all of my books on a single device as opposed to having to store them somewhere. This isn't really anything new either, I have read stories of the same thing happening in other locations all over the world. Some bookstores have embraced the future and gone electronic, others have remained ignorant and has closed down, that is business and the process of the evolution of technology.

Eventually everything will pretty much be read of a screen, buying a book would be something of an antique luxury. That is the future, I won't say that books will be obsolete soon, but you can't deny that it is already starting and it is coming. If anybody wants to make a bet with me that books will not be basically obsolete within 50 years write up the contract now.

I love books, though i have been quite lazy when it comes to reading them as of late. But they do take up a LOT of space. I think e readers are just the next stage. Why not? You can save your page instead of walking along with your book and the book mark falls out. But tbh, i havent even tried eReaders so i cant say if i like them or not.

But would you rather own data or something you can physically hold in your hand?

I wanted a library in my house.

I think one day houses are going to be tiny, because everything will just be technical, in some way.

Houses won't be tiny because technology will be everywhere.

Houses will be tiny because overpopulation will force everybody to live on top of each other in tiny apartments in giant buildings that reach to the sky like in The 5th Element.

Good movie that is.

I have no desire for a library in my house, I am certainly no graduate of the arts and literature or whatever.

Neither am I, but I like lots of different books.

I mean, if everything is in the cloud, then there won't be a need for books, movies, large computers, etc.

Hands down, Books

Can still purchase books online, and cheaper than stores, so e-readers aren't taking over, just email sales.

Books are awesome. Although some of the e-readers out there are pretty spiffy. In a way I wouldn't mind getting myself one.
I love reading. And the fact that I don't have to lug a book everywhere with me can be a plus. Especially as I do travel a lot and I do still intend to travel a lot more. It just saves on luggage space. Although it is a bit of an inconvenience having to charge the thing. No idea how long these are meant to last.
The other thing that got me, I don't know if anyone has one. But isn't the glare terrible? Although I see the kindles and such don't actually have a backlight as such how do you peeps find those if you have one?

The glare isn't so good on say an iPad. Kindle's screens are completely different because they change the contrast so it looks like you are looking at a page in a book.

< Buys books, I will for as long as I can.

E-readers are only useful for travel as far as I'm concerned, as it saves on weight of the books.
