Well, dad finally got some permanent internet.
-dances-

However, i do not havea computer that i can call my own.
What i ask of you spectrum people is to recommend a good computer-desktop tower- that can run most good games, -i.e black ops-
that wont rape my savings, so around 400 - 500.

If anyone can sell me a second hand tower for that price, would be great. If so, contact me somehow.
Even better, find one thtat is brand new and isnt a heap of ****.

Kthx bai.

Ebay is a great place, but the ones i saw under $500 didn't have video cards...

At the moment, Black Ops is unplayable on most PCs, even the best i7 gaming rigs, its quite sad really, but they said there will be a patch out soon to fix those problems so maybe i can actually play without **** loads of lag.

Dads lookin at getting a Toshiba Satellite A500/2J
Intel core i5 2.2ghz Processer
4gb RAM expandable to 8gb
500gb HDD
16" LCD wide screen
1gb discrete GFX

Is that good?

2.2 ghz is less than what my laptop has. My laptop can't play many new games - I can't play Blur or Need for Speed for instance.

it's 2.2ghz on an i5. It should be fine.

that sort of pc looks pretty good. just make sure it all works when you put it in. Nothing worse than buying a computer and finding out that the internal fan doesn't work so you have to pay to fix it after it melts...

32 bit on that computer means your going to have only like 2.5GB of that 4GB of system memory. Really need 64bit when you have 4GB of memory, and a video card with 1GB of memory.

The laptop looks sound. Just the number one thing that keeps laptops from gaming are the graphics cards. That laptop has a GT330 so gaming should be pretty good. Done think your going to get highest settings in all games. But games that use Source engine you should be highest settings. I'm not 100% on COD. My laptop only has a GT210 and can play COD:MW on about lowest(I also have a low voltage CPU, so less powerful). So I bet it would be playable at maybe Med./High settings.

Shows a lot of people having pretty good luck playing on it.

that is more of an indepth view..
I have no idea what it means by Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium (32bit) (includes recovery partition for Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit)
but i think this one will be the go... Unless people can suggest something better,

That means soon as you get it, you should recover with that 64bit partition. Not sure why they do that, makes no sense.

But here is a question that will help looking for a laptop. Does your dad care about the looks of the laptop? or really if its has very good... lap skills (aka huge)?

One company I suggest looking at is ASUS. They make great laptops. I say that owning a ASUS laptop, and its never had a issue, and is super fast even for being a portable laptop.

That laptop has the same graphics card as my desktop.... That thing should be damn powerful. It does have bad reviews do to trying to get that much power in a laptop.

Yeah CPU is a little faster, so you'll be able to encode a video 5 seconds fast.

while in a game, cpu matter less than graphics.

Nvidia 330m:

CoD Modern Warfare 2 @ High: ~30fps
Crysis @ High: ~23fps

ATI 5870:

CoD Modern Warfare 2 @ Ultra: ~50fps
Crysis @ High: ~56fps
