Everyone knows there are only 2 male contraceptives. Condoms and a vasectomy.

At the moment, there are clinical trials occurring, testing the male "pill" and an injection.

Guys, would you be willing to take a pill everyday or go to the doctor to get an injection?

Gals, would you want your partner to be responsible for contraception and would you trust him enough to take a pill everyday?

Well the condom is such an effective and easy contraception that this pill or injection would have to be really good for it to be properly considered if you ask me.

Effective? That is debatable.
Easy? Yes, most definitely.

What the male pill/injection does it is stops the maturation of sperm, so you are "shooting blanks".

That sounds less risky than a condom to me.

Well that does sound pretty darn effective, does it have side effects? does it take time for it to work?

And if someone isn't using the pill because they aren't expecting sex, the condom will still be used for the emergency situations lol

I can't tell you anything yet because it is still undergoing clinical trials and yes, it will take time to work, because, essentially, it is much easier to stop one female egg being released than 100s of millions of sperm being made and matured.

Emergency situations? hahaha.
That is a problem I see happening. People's attitudes towards safe sex will change. People will be covered to stop pregnancy, but if you have a certain lifestyle and want to sleep with lots of people, then you will have to use a condom anyway.

This new male contraception will be useful for:
People in committed relationships, who have both been STD tested and do not wish to have children.
Men who want to sleep with other people, but want to lower the risk of pregnancy and are willing to wear a condom.

(That last one sounds like a way of being able to cheat on your partner...hmmm...)

I would be willing to use this pill/injection as long as it worked well and didn't have any bad side-effects, but it will be a very long time until this stuff is released to the general public since its currently undergoing clinical trials.

The condom will always be the most popular form of contraception for men imo.

I think this is a great advancement in contraception, it's good that the guys get some choice and have the option to be drugged up instead of their partners.

I could trust my partner enough to take a pill everyday, it's myself I trust less haha.

I was reading more into it and a pill might not be possible, because testosterone can't be absorbed through the stomach, so it would have to be an injection.

I would be willing to get an injection depending on how often I would have to get this injection and how expensive it would be in addition to what I said before.

There are always side effects with every drug. We just don't know what they are now.

Well as long as the drug is fully tested and no negative side effects are found, I would be fine with that.

Fk the injection right off..
The whole idea is screwed. Why reverse the roles? Wiminz take the pill, men wear the rubber. It works fine. No need for tampering.

What's wrong with their being more options, especially when this will be more effective than a condom?

Condoms are useful but in my opinion they're not the ideal contraception for preventing pregnancies. They're great for STDs though.

The condom does both, stops STI'S aaaaand has a very high contraceptive rate success rate.
So, you dont need another option, this thing does both.
These other methods on elimination getting dat ho pregoo's bruu.

The condom actually doesn't. When you see statistics, a lot of places will show the success rate of perfect use. The thing is, so many people don't actually know how to use condoms properly, so the typical use percentage is so much lower.

Don't you hear about all those girls who have become pregnant from their partner using condoms?

For a committed couple, the male contraception will work great because they won't need to worry about condoms.

I think it is always a good thing to have more options.

Its not good to get chlamydia... and die....
However chlamydia is a myth so yeah.

User error doesnt count. If they are blind drunk and cant put the condom on properly well thats there fault.

In committed relationships, girls use the pill guy where the condom. WORKS FINE!
Only good to come from eliminating the condom will be better feeling for the girl and guy...

Herp.. Read the instructions... says all..

That also doesnt count. Because if they cant use it properly. then its not the condom at fault. Therefore, the condom is still a good preventative measure.
