Well what can I say? I actually haven't played the full version of Mafia 2, however I played the demo and it blew me away.
Mafia 2 is set in the 1950's and 2k Games have really made it feel like you are there. There are many awesome features present in the game which are not seen in GTA.
First of all, the fighting in the game is so enjoyable including both gun and fist fights. With first fights, you choose either a light punch, heavy punch or block, and once your opponent is weak you can do some pretty cool finishing moves. Just today I found out that if the AI is next to an object saya fence, you smash his head against it during the fight.
Second thing is the cops. They wont arrest you for fist fights, they will just come and break it up. However, if you start a fight again infront of them, they will arrest you, or you can give them a bribe and they will go away. in GTA the wanted system consisted of increasing stars, which means different vehicles and better guns for the police. In Mafia 2, the star system is there however, its the same cops but the stages are 'arrest, pistols, automatic rifles' and I dont know whats beyond that, haven't been in that much trouble yet. If you do manage to evade the police, you are still wanted, as there is a poster showing your face around. Unlike in GTA they won't just forget about you.
Speeding near police will make them chase you, however you will get a ticket and fined. Same with hit and runs, ect.
You can change your clothes, eat, drink and I also found a 1950's porno magazine which you can read through.
Cars Run out Fuel, making you have to refill your tank when it gets low. This is done the 1950's way with the gas attendant coming out and filling it for you.
Cars can be modified, including wheels, paint, engine performance, and you are able to customize your number plates.
I have probably missed things out, but remember this is just the demo, and there is probably a whole tonne more in the full version, I guarantee it.
I recommend this game 100%
