"I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game is a sardonic loveletter
to the halcyon days of early American videogaming, packaged as a
nail-rippingly difficult platform adventure. Players fill the role of
The Kid, a youthful, vaguely Megaman-esque protagonist on a quest to
become The Guy. This inscrutable plot, however, is just a vehicle for a
wide variety of inventive, well-designed and frustrating jump-and-shoot
challenges that pay homage to many of the games you loved as a child.
The ever-fragile Kid explodes in a shower of red pixels at the
slightest brush from the game's many obstacles, from traditional spikes
and bottomless pits to more unconventional killers, such as plantlife
and puzzle pieces.


Using a multiroute layout not unlike a Metroidvania, the game grants a
degree of deadly exploration, without those extraneous upgades
meant to make life easier. The game provides players with a choice in
terms of their deathrate, thanks to a variable difficulty setting that
changes the number of save points from frequent to nonexistent. IWBTG
is open to all players; knowledge of videogaming history is optional,
and may not help against the frequently ironic and always sadistic
deathtraps located herein. And so, the question is left up to you...

Ive been playing this game recently and I am now addicted to it, I am
finally up to the last boss (whooooo).

So what i want to know is if
anyone here would like to give this game a shot and give a shot, and give a running commentary over this board?

Ive gone up, past the fkn apples and now up to clouds... AND THEY ARE DOGGING ME!!!!!!!!! NUU. Ive already died like 30 times.

30 times? Thats chump change! I'm over 100 because when jumping the blocks after the clouds, the little **** doesn't double jump from the second block!

A: You're falling off the platform you're on before jumping. Be careful!

Ahhh thanks for the tip, ive had that happen alot too, btw fade, that was after like 3 minutes of gameplay.

I laughed at the first part, where you die instantly if you don't know. It was just SPLAT!

On the lower path, I'm atthe part where the blocks go down when you touch them.
On the middle path, I'm on the elevating platforms where spikes fall.
On the upper path I'm at the cliff overlooking Home.

let me throw a hint out there for u guys, u wanna go higher then the cloud

ok, I found one of the secret items, the one in the game over room, and I rode the spikey life up into the clouds and somehow managed to save at the part where the cloud drop lightning on you. So whenever I respawn, I die instantly if I don't move quick enough. and now this part, which is relatively simple, I'm having trouble with because I forget the last star falls on you.

/facepalm try not make the game so easy for everyone else by telling them where 2 go

you could know exactly where to go, but getting theres the challenge.

Nope, been lucky so far. And by lucky I mean shooting at everything, jumping on everything, and then shooting while jumping on everything.

Argh! I decided to take the spiky lift upwards and I can't pass!
