Well first we procrastinate putting the tree up, then finally get around to it, then don't put the star on because either myself or my sister aren't there and we need to do it together for the photo, then we all complain about shopping for a few days and forget to get those chocolate calenders, then every family member comes down to our house and they exchange bottles of wine.

I'm going on holiday with my family to the eastern states, mainly Melbourne soon, so we'll be over there during Christmas, we'll probably have some form of family get-together there during christmas I guess, since my dad has a lot of family and friends living over there.

My christmas things normal involve waking up, present openings, disbands play with pressies, call family, turkey lunch with relies.. Visit/call friends and yeah...
Seafood dinner yum yum yum or a BBQ....

LAst christmas for me though was ruined..
Mums ex BF had a 6 yo, you know 6 yo's attention seeking devil spawn..
and she was a girl, she spent christmas with us, and while we were opening up our prezzies, she got all sooky started crying and basically screamed i want attention! this day isnt for me, so mum just completely ignored us and payed all the attention to her, so our day, got turned into her day..
Never gonna forgive her for that... nor that little girl...
This hast really happened on one occasion, mine and my brothers birthdays, easter and other holidays..

Rofl. I hear 15 yo's are quite attention seeking too Wink
I joke i joke.

My family is split up, so depending on who's weekend it is, we start at one house (either my dad's or my mum's) open presents, have a sweet juicy ham off the bone, maybe croissant, egg or bacon (something yummy along the lines of that). Then between 11 and 1, we change house. Have a lunch of maybe more ham or a turkey, give and receive more presents and the sit around trying them out or retreat to our rooms to talk on the computers or something. And then for dinner, if im at my mum's house, we normally just have chocolate and sweets (lots and lots of sugar:D) and if im at my dad's we have had a huge lunch and dont feel hungry, or if we do, we just have leftovers.

Thats about how it Normally goes. though it changes quite a lot.

One thing that sucks, is that i absolutely NEVER get to see my relatives during Christmas, since my dad's family live in the UK/USA, and my mum's in QLD.

Obviously James doesn't consider Christmas Eve to be Christmas Razz. For my Christmas, I see my Mum's side of the family on Christmas Eve and James spent the last Christmas Eve with us and I hope he does again. Then on Christmas Day we go see my Dad's side of the family, usually for lunch.

It seems our Christmas plans have changed this year. Instead of on Christmas Eve, I am seeing my Mum's side on Boxing Day.

We don't have a traditional lunch as such.

Roasts and things.
We all bring a dish of food to share.

But because my Mum's side of the family is Polish, my Babcia (Grandmother) makes kapusta, which is a cabbage dish.

Actually, it isn't formal at all. We don't sit at a long dining table, sit down and eat. We have a buffet and all sit round on couches and stuff.

I'm going over east this Christmas, to spend time with Dad's family. They all came over here last year. It gets crazy, and all the present opening is over in the space of about 20 minutes. People just keep relentlessly giving each other presents, you don't really get a proper chance to look at one before you gotta open the next one lol. Or at least that's what happened last year - hopefully it's more drawn out this Christmas.

Just a question I would like to ask here, sorry if I offend someone, but am I the only one with parents still together? Because I'm like one in a million at my school, which is kinda sad.

Mine are. When I mean I am seeing a side of the family, I mean extended family. We can't see both extended families on the one day, because that is too much!

Yeah I'm the same as Emilia. My parents are together, but Dad's siblings and dad live in NSW and QLD. All of Mum's family live here in Perth.
