I have a pretty bad 30" cathode ray TV, the screen is not even flat! How
can TV manufacturers convince me that their screens have perfect detail
etc if all I can see in their commercials is my TV quality?

In other words, what's the point of those commercials?

All they do is turn up the brightness on their film so when we look at it, it looks better.

The tv commercials are there to spark interest in a new tv or product, they aren't there to show you the picture quality. If your interested in buying the tv then you should go into a technology shop and look at the tv's yourself and see what they are.

hah, bet they didnt think it over first...

I find it funny that while at the shops, they have the HD and normal screens side by side. I still can't tell the difference between them.
