Ok, along with a lot of other things i am obsessed with, cars would have to be up there as the one I'm most obsessed about. And Top Gear quenches my thirst for speed, exotic cars and stupid (but funny) stunts and races.

They aren't known for their realistic expectations on cars, since they mainly test super cars that no one will ever afford in their entire life (take for example: the Bugatti Veyron - a car that can reach 412km/h and has two V8 engines!!!), but when they do test the general cars that people can afford, they make a mockery of it (they played soccer with Toyota Echo's and ice hockey with Suzuki Swifts).

Is anyone else with me when i say that it wins like The Stig? Or will you spend the rest of their lives with "Captain Slow".

Everyone likes someone who is mysterious. You just have an urge find out who that person is. Who is this person that can drive cars like a pro? Everyone who watched the Stig being revealed was probably really excited then crushed when they made a joke saying it was Michael Schumacher. They are never going to reveal who he is because he is a reason the show is popular.

The upside to having anybody in a costume is that you hire many different people, give them a costume and spread them all over the world. That character can make multiple appearances around the world without using the actual pro driver. The fact that he hardly speaks helps too. lol

And thats exactly what they have done. Throughout the show, they have had: The Stig's African Cousin, Rig Stig, the Stig's Communist cousin and the Stig's American cousin (nicknamed "Big Stig"). Each having a slightly diferent appearance, but overall looking the same in the white helmet.

I loved the Stigs African cousin episode.

James, I know there are different stigs, but that wasn't my point. I'm saying that they could use anyone to be the stig and people wouldn't know.

If I were to blow up a Bugatti, I would put it on YouTube. 1 million dollars for 1 million views? lol

That entire Africa special was really good. I love how attached they got to their cars

I think the car companies 'lend' them to the show for them to review. It's good publicity for them, even if they do say the car is bad.

Anyone see the episode of the chaser where they dressed as the stig?

Shows how loyal the British are. They got free rides all over Britain from complete strangers all because they dressed as the stig, and people were honored to give him/her a ride.

Oh yeah, he got a free ride to paris or something, that was awsome...

Then at the end he said he wasn't really the stig and they were all "awww..."
