We need to get people who want to participate and then collaborate on WHEN we can all come play. We also need to test things out...

What do we need to test? Nothing. We load a new server of hardcore survival. That's it. People come and go as they please.

Also, if you are waiting for when everyone is available, you will be waiting forever.

I agree if you want to work together make a group house where people can put resources in, we'll never get everyone on for on game let alone an extended mission to the end!

For someone who doesn't wanna do it in the first place, you sure do have an opinion about everything, don't you...

You can't just have people come and go as they please. They have to start AS A GROUP! That's the ENTIRE POINT of Hardcore Survival...surviving TOGETHER. If people are going to play hardcore minecraft by themselves, why go online to begin with? They can do it EASILY on single player...

You are supposed to start AS A GROUP
You are supposed to gather materials TOGETHER
You are supposed to fight monsters TOGETHER

You can put up a Survival Server that uses Hardcore settings...but it won't truly be SPECTRUM HARDCORE SURVIVAL...and I won't want ANYTHING to do with it...

True its better to do it as a group but try dealing with multiple time zones as well as everything else people have going on i doubt every single person will be there all the time. i'm not saying don't try it i think we're being realistic about what will happen.

What if we did it like every second week in place of FNG?

We all gather up and play for however many hours we can and then everyone leaves and the map goes untouched until we come back...instead of one ironman long gaming session...

I think that could work with just a few hours or so each session, and I'll stop the server until we are playing again. Replacing FNG every fortnight is an idea, only really plausible if enough people are keen on SPECTRUM HARDCORE SURVIVAL.

But then I guess only the people interested can come along and participate and the rest can continue with GES or whatever for normal FNG programming.

I think it would also be cool if a few people captured our sessions to make it a video. Just a thought.

But lets start with everyone keen on doing this, put your hand up here and we can edit the list at the start of this thread until we have at least 5 or so players, then we will start talking times etc...

PLUS, in my experience, trying to get everyone together from different timezones at the same time is a NIGHTMARE.

If the server is constantly running, then people are more likely to jump on when they have any free time and seeing other people playing.

If say 5 people are playing, are you going to wait every single time for the same five people to join up to play again?

Sounds like you'd rather play by yourself more than anything else...

Look at the "regulars" we have at American FNG...look at all the different time zones there meeting up...

It seems like you're MISSING THE POINT COMPLETELY of this entire thing...

Sounds like you have a very specific idea on exactly how you want everyone else to play this.
I agree with Emily, rarely am i free on friday nights but when i randomly log onto the server there is almost always someone on and having the server on all the time doesn't mean we can't organize to all be on at the same time
I prefer if i have a random hour or so to be able to log on ad get some stuff done.
Likng the server to be on all the time for convenience does not mean that i want to be playing single player survival it just makes my life at least a bit eaiser.

Well so far we have three from Perth, one in Brisbane and one in the US. And we know Mister B is keen so he will [I'm sure] be more flexible with times to play where he can. Same goes for me, I'll stay up or whatever to get a good session in.

So can we find a time for the three in Perth that will work?

As for VoIP, I have a TeamSpeak 3 server that I use for my friends. I like it better than skype, skype is bloated and often gets bad call quality especially with more than errr... one person in the call. >.> (Well at least for me)

I rarely play Minecraft all by myself. I like multiplayer games and you find me playing on the server with Dave, Jonie and Terry all the time.

American FNG is 3 time zones. For Spectrum survival, seeing as this clan is a majority of Australian, we now have 6 time zones with a time difference of 12-16 hours.

Mister Bright, you need to be more flexible here in the times that the rest of us are available and what we can do. We want to do this and we want to take up your idea. But if you are needed everyone to go on at the same time, it just will never go ahead. I would rather just start this.

Green list the names who are going to play. Set some ground rules and missions. Record as we go. Just have fun.

I can start this thang this afternoon if we really like, what game rules do we want set.

As for missions, isn't the ultimate goal to defeat the ender dragon?
