I'm an A+ too, like my Mum. No idea what my Dad is because he is very chicken when it comes to blood tests, more than me!

Looks like I am stealing Damata's organs.

Bring it bro.

I am glad I know my blood type, but in the event of an emergency, they just pump you with O- anyway and test your blood because they don't believe you.

And for those who happen to be AB+, lucky you!

I donated plasma every 2 weeks for a couple of months, I feel I've given my share of fluids to the blood demons for now.
In saying that, AB blood types are most wanted for Plasma donations I think

I thought O- plasma would still be the way to go, or can they separate the AB components?

I just know for O types they prefer blood, just were happy with me giving plasma as 6 times over 12 weeks beats 1 blood donation.

AB being rarer needed platelets or Plasma most, not 100% on it atm though

Well, it is a lot easier to remake plasma than red blood cells, which takes 120 days. If you had whole blood donations as much as your plasma ones, you'd be dead.

I'd donate blood if I could. I have a problem with blood tests, in that I get very nervous, light headed and hysterical. Sometimes it is hard to get blood out of me. I think I would pass out if I gave a donation.

Where as I apparently don't feel needles enter my flesh unless they screw up majorly.
Haven't been back since last time my veins swelled up (Temporarily) due to the needle being inserted ridiculously wrong.

Not sure what mine is, been meaning to get it checked out for some time now. I'm not great with needles though. I nearly passed out the last time I got a blood test done at a pre-op clinic

B+, and definitely time to donate again. Only given once this year so far; I'm missing those free biscuits (cookies) and watery diluting juice...

Funnily enough I've never had any problems with the big donation needles, but a few months ago I was taking part in a friend's University experiment that required several blood samples to be taken with a regular syringe, and the guy doing it messed one of them up. Seemed fine at the time but I quickly got a sore, stiff elbow and one horrible looking bruise.

The moral of that story is keep pressure on it long enough for it to clot, and don't let professors take your blood.
