I was just curious for some new views on the use and/or abuse of alcohol to help someone feel more "accepted" in social situations.

I think that it is sad that someone would have to drink alcohol to be accepted by other people.

How about the use of alcohol as an "anti-depressant" of sorts?

I think that drinking is not going to make anything better. It will just make things worse, therefore, the person will just keep drinking. Better off trying to get some help.

I personally found for me / my best friend, that when we drink, we think more clearly, and can make a better life decision.
This isn't the case for the majority but.

How come you can't make decisions when you are sober?

I can make decisions, but I don't go as in depth with them.
I under analyse them and seem to be too sarcastic, even for myself.

im a shy person generally, i drink because im more outgoing when drunk, i dont drink because of social expectations

I get too much better at climbing drunk, so, I tend to say, hang off bars 20 feet above the ground have no chance of injury, but freak people out.

Only reason I really drink is to enhance the current situation. aka watching a movie, playing a game, hanging with peeps. Don't drink cause its cool, just cause it opens certain parts of the brain that make situations better.
