This will be an on going blog for me to added random things I discover about pharmacy (and that I think you would find interesting)

So, I was looking through my SUSMP and I was flicking through the Schedule 8 drugs (means it is very highly regulated (dexamphetamines is an example of this)) and I came across this drug

It is called Thebacon.
It is a synthetic opioid (morphine is a type of opioid), so it is used for pain relief.

The thing is, I have no idea how to pronounce this drug, because all I can read it as is THE BACON. Theb-a-con maybe?

I just think someone was very hungry at the time when they named this drug Razz

It doesn't really look like bacon...

I think it would be pronounced to be something like

fe - ba - con

con as in on and not bacon

that pronunciation sounds like a drug

its probably coincidence that its food

maybe there is something like a wikipedia entry which shows why drugs are named what they are

you would know more than me emilia

on another note

i find it hilarious that you actually think its pronounced the bacon

and you call yourself a pharmacy student
