Have a look at this news report that was aired quite recently.

What do you think?

(for those that dont know - this is Australia's opposition leader)

Will this man ever make Prime Minister or has he just dashed his hopes against the rocks?

The way he seemed to have difficulty answering the reporter did seem rather odd, but as for the actual statement itself, we didn't get to see what was said before or afterward, it could have just been his way of helping the troops get on the with the job sort of a "**** happens, but you don't give up" statement.

Without knowing what the context actually was I'm not going to make up mind as to weather or not he was right to be saying what he did. I do however know that people love taking things out of context and changing them to get responses and the like, it really really wouldn't surprise me if it has honestly been taken out of context.

I did notice the scene change from the commander giving tony important information to his response immediately after, it probably didn't happen like that.

I think that Tony Abbot is a total douchebag, but I don't think he's in the wrong here. It's just people taking things out of context and blowing them up again. Politics news is good at that.

That may be taken out of context, but I still see it as rather insulting no matter what way I look at it.

You just don't say, "**** happens" when an Australian soldier dies, you say that when somebody breaks something at home, not when people are shot.

Tony Abbot is a bloody idiot in my opinion and this is one of the many reasons why I voted for labor, but this is really nothing new to me, I've seen Tony Abbot say stupid shiit on the news before.
