I'm excited to announce our new Spectrum Minecraft server. As we know, Pearly has had a few computer troubles and the server was not running as smoothly as we hoped. My friend Jonie (WolfgangAugustus) has offered his computer as a server. Pearly has provided us with the server files, so the map is still the same and so too are the admins. I'd like to thank Pearly for providing us with the server for the past few years and to welcome Jonie to the Spectrum community.

Hi Everyone.

I'm happy to be a part of your community and I hope everything goes as smooth as possible with hosting your new Spectrum server. If you experience problems that an admin can't fix in game like excessive lag issues etc. Please feel free to PM me (or maybe a thread can be dedicated) with your query and I'll do my best to sort it out when I'm home. I do work and go to uni so I'm not at home all the time so please spare a little patience when we are dealing with technical details - but lets hope that doesn't happen!

A full backup of the world will be done everyday (haven't decided on a time yet) and I will keep a weeks history to roll back on if need be. So if something absolutely terrible goes wrong like an unmitigated orgy of creepers turn half the city into a hole in the ground - please let me know as soon as possible so I can roll the server back and restore the city.

I'll be gaming on the server with you so you can get to know me in the wonderful Spectrum City!

I also host Tekkit and Tekkit Lite servers that my friends play on (only a very small group). If anyone is interested in those feel free to let me know.

I also host a TeamSpeak3 server for myself and my friends. If there is interest here I'd be happy to dedicate a channel to the Spectrum community to use in the Mine Craft City.

Our current server is PLAY AS YOU LIKE server. If you logged in, you should have been in Survival (Jonie, please check this)

Glad I wasn't in survival because I spawned inside a mountain and would have been crushed to death...

Not a good first impression

What is Minecraft? I've seen a hundred pics but the premise of the game remains a mystery to me. Do you just build things? Is there a challenge or an objective? Is it competitive? Is it a strategy? Is it like Half Life? Is it worth getting?

Jonie, you might need to use MCEdit on the map and make sure spawn hasn't moved.

Mark, Minecraft is about building things, but the possibilities are endless. I would think you might like the adventure maps people make, which are all about puzzles and story telling (I would love to have an adventure map night as well)
