Just tried starting up GE:S and it throws me for an error.

Just by reading it one would think it would have to do with steam.
Any ideas?

Verify your hl2:ep2 and source sdk2006 cache.

Gamecode 421 (where the issue is)is "421 Half-Life 2: Episode Two Content"

If any game is reinsalled its HL2. Just verify its cache and should be good to go.

Someone else I know just started having this problem. He reinstalled GE:S twice but it didn't fix it. So, let's pool together and solve this! Would reinstalling Source SDK 2007 work maybe?

It seems that this error is stumping all of us. Normally we find a way to get around it, but this time, Valve has really **** up. I haven't opened my Steam in weeks, so I am afraid that it is going to happen to me.

The day this error was first posted, my Steam did a longer-than-usual update, but GE:S is still working fine for me. So... interesting...

I'm in the steam beta, I have no issue with games

I also own lots of source based games to **** around with files though

Uninstalled, re-installed but to no avail...
It must be something to do with steam Again
