Phewtick is a social app for iPhone and Android.

The app provides you with a QR Code. Using GPS, it tells you if a person with Phewtick is nearby. The idea of the app is to meet new people. You go up to them, scan their code with your phone and you receive points for the interaction, which then can be redeemed for real cash.

It has become a very popular app in Asia and a few people in Australia are starting to use it.

If this app is truly legit, I have an idea. Maybe if every Perth Spectrum member installed this application, and we did this as part of our meet ups, we could rack up some money to go towards something at the end of 2013?

Why are they paying for people to meet up?

Why not?

Meet new people, catch up with existing friends.

I am going into the city on Saturday, so it will be interesting to see if there is anyone using the app.
