There is a new look Steam out now. It is in Beta mode at the moment but the layout is completely different. It has a more fresh appearance with improved information about your game right at the touch of your fingertips

Tried It, i puked and then cried, I lost my mods (Garry's Mod 9, GE:S, SMOD) then went back to normal, everything was perfect, Thats the new UI update (Steam Beta) in a nutshell

My mods and non Steam games were still there. You must have done something wrong!

My mods are fine as well, I have a few little bones to pick with it (that I can't think of atm ) but apart from that, it looks really nice

It is still beta, so give them some feed back and they'll fix it!

Not that steam ever fixes anthing.
Although, I downloaded it and it works pretty well.
