Hey everyone. For those that don't know me. I'm James aka MIJY. And for those that remember me. Long time no see.
I thought id come back and have a squiz and maybe start being a bit more active again.... Though I've said that a few times.
None the less, I thought I would just post a little thing about where I disappeared to and what I've been doing.
For a long time I was just inactive due to laziness... however I now work away on the mines on a 2 week on, 1 week off roster. I work 12 hours a day (sometimes 13 on blast days). I've been working on blast crew getting to blow stuff up for nearly 9 months now and the new found pay rate has lead me into my latest hobby.
DRIFT
After saving for 3 months. I went and bought myself a 1993 180sx SR20DET. Not long after purchase, I got myself out on the track at barbagallo raceway and since then have spent most breaks from work entertaining myself by blowing money on my car.
I've been to the track for 3 events.
Friday night drift practice. Where I only went out to the noob pad at the back of the track to learn the basics of drift.
Barbagallo Drift Assault (BDA) A two day event over a weekend where I managed to get off the noob pad and learn what actual drifting is like. I managed to do pretty well I think, for my first time. I also got to do some fun skids on the burnout pad at the end of the weekend.
WA Drift Round 1 (Competition Event). I only entered this event in hope for more practice of drifting... which I got. I was allowed to drift any corner on the track and I succeed. It was an amazing feeling.
But then disaster struck. I messed up. I made the car do something it wasn't meant to do. FLY.
The car didn't roll amazingly and I was able to walk away virtually unscathed. Total damage was coilovers (suspension), Tie rods snapped (Steering), Tyre deflated, Intercooler cracked, Turbo seals blown and extremely bruised ego. Still I live and I learn. And ill definitely not be flying any time soon in my car.
Big plans for the car being fixed up and should be fixed and running in a few weeks.
And here we are now. Nice to see everyone again and I look forward to talking to everyone again.
